GHMC Restores Mogulaiah’s Painting

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has restored the mural of Padma Shri awardee Darshanam Mogilaiah on a flyover pillar near LB Nagar Police Station.
“Action is being initiated against the responsible officials of LB Nagar District Advertisement Wing for this mistake,” said a GHMC official.
Mogulaiah, a famous folk musician, was disheartened to see the posters and stains marring the mural. He started cleaning up himself and a few passersby joined him.
GHMC staff removed the posters, cleaned the stains and undertook the repainting process to restore the artwork to its original form and dignity.
“We are also trying to track down those who pasted the posters on the mural. The posters have now been removed,” a GHMC official added.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday, Mogilaiah said he was deeply hurt when he saw the posters pasted over the artwork.
