Burgular caught after leaving Red Bull cans at crime scenes | News

A thief was caught mid-break-in after leaving cans of Red Bull at the scene of other crimes.

Reece Wheat, 28, of Coach Road, Ripley, entered two pubs on November 28 and December 1, emptying the tills and taking valuables.

He sipped Red Bull cans that he left in bars after escaping during the theft.

Using forensic evidence, Nottinghamshire Police were able to link him to two burglaries and he was caught when he tried to raid another pub on December 12.

Wheat appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, December 13, after being charged with three counts of burglary and two counts of theft, where he admitted all five offences.

He will be sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on January 2.
