N.J. man dies after he’s punched in face at wedding venue

A Plainfield man died Thursday night after he was shot by another man at an upscale dining hall and wedding venue in Passaic County, authorities said.
The 46-year-old victim was shot in the face at around 11:56 p.m. Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes. The victim’s name was not released.
Woodland Park police responded to the scene in the 700 block of Rifle Camp Road after receiving a report that the man was unresponsive.

Emergency responders took the man to St. Petersburg in Paterson. He was taken to St. Joseph University Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The alleged attacker left the scene in a vehicle, Valdes said in a statement with Woodland Park Police Chief Luigi DeLuca.
