Two Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies were caught on camera saving two paragliders from drowning when they crashed into the fog-covered ocean near Malibu on Friday.
Bodycan footage of one of the MPs shows authorities yelling at the paragliders to “Stop!” after responding to a call from two victims in distress. As he shouts, it shows that they are taking action quickly.
“Without hesitation and fully aware of the danger, LA County Sheriff’s Department Deputies Matkin and Grigoryan took off their department-issued gear and jumped into the water,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement shared with Fox News Digital. he said.
Deputies swam about 25 feet to a man and woman whose feet became entangled in the heavy security equipment that pulled them down, which deputies were able to cut with their knives.

Deputy Christopher Matkin described the rescue effort as “tense” and explained that frantic paragliders continued to pull themselves down in panic.
“We managed to calm them down,” he added at the press conference.

The ministry said the paragliders’ ill-fated journey probably occurred as they descended and ran towards the ocean fog bank.
“It looks like they got disoriented at this point and fell into the ocean,” a third lawmaker said.
