Taliban praise Russia’s ‘brave decision’ to recognise their rule in Afghanistan | Afghanistan

The Afghan government said it has become the first country to officially recognize Russia’s rule and called it a “brave decision”.
After overthrowing the foreign -backed government, the Taliban returned to power in 2021 and implemented a simple version of Islamic law.
The announcement was held on Thursday after Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Russia’s Ambassador of Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov in Kabul.
Muttaqi said, “This brave decision will be an example for others… Now Russia was in front of everyone, since the recognition process has begun, Mut Muttaqi said.
The Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesman Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal told AFP to AFP using the name of the government, “The first country to officially recognize the Islamic Emirate of Russia,” he said.
Moscow’s Special Representative to Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov told Russia’s state news agency Ria Novosti that the government “knew” the Taliban government. Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed the TASS news agency.
The movement comes shortly after the Taliban diplomat took on the role of Gül Hassan’s role of Kabul’s Ambassador of Moscow.
Moscow took steps to normalize relations with the Taliban government, to remove its appointment as a “terrorist organization in April and to invite representatives to official events.
Russia was the first country to open a business representative office in Kabul after the Taliban took over, and announced that it plans to use Afghanistan as a transit center for gas to Southeast Asia.
In July 2024, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin described the Taliban as “allies in the fight against terrorism”.
Only Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates recognized the Taliban during the first ruling mission from 1996 to 2001.
This time, many other states, including China and Pakistan, accepted the Taliban ambassadors in their capitals, but they did not officially recognize Afghanistan as an Islamic emirate.
However, the restrictions on women and girls – preventing them from education and squeezing from public life – there have been important points for other nations.
The Taliban officials sought international recognition and investment as they survived the forty -year war, including the Soviet invasion from 1979 to 1989.
