Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday (December 11) that all “misunderstandings” with the United States over Ukraine were resolved after a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and US envoy Steve Witkoff earlier this month. The Kremlin praised the Dec. 2 meeting with U.S. special envoy Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner as “constructive,” but failed to produce major progress in resolving the Ukraine war. Lavrov said on Thursday that the talks confirmed the “mutual understandings” reached between Putin and US Donald Trump at their summit in Alaska in August.
