Angus Taylor can be added to action over Liberal nomination fiasco

Senior federal Liberal MP Angus Taylor and several other members of the party’s powerful NSW state government could be sued over the party’s failure to nominate more than 100 local government candidates in last year’s council elections, a court has ruled.
A. decision The NSW Supreme Court last week agreed to allow lawyers for a pair of former Cessnock councillors, acting on behalf of plaintiffs, to file a new legal case naming more than two dozen party officials as defendants.
Original claimThe lawsuit, filed in April, alleged that the NSW Liberal Party, through its state director and deputy state director, had breached several “contracts” by not nominating candidates for local elections.
