Earthquake of magnitude 6.4 strikes Papua New Guinea

The German Research Center for Earth Sciences said that a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in Papua New Guinea.
According to GFZ, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 106 km.
No immediate damage or loss of life was reported.
Earthquakes are common in PNG, which lies on the seismic Ring of Fire, an arc of intense tectonic activity stretching across Southeast Asia and the Pacific basin.
