Husband and five men charged with string of sexual offences against his ex-wife

A husband and five other men were charged with more than 60 sexual offenses against his wife, including multiple rapes and administering a stupor.
Philip Young and others are accused of committing multiple crimes against 48-year-old Joanne Young between 2010 and 2023.
Detective Superintendent Geoff Smith, of Wiltshire Police, said: “This is a significant update in a complex and extensive investigation.
“The victim in this case, Joanne, made the decision to waive her automatic legal right to anonymity. She was supported by specially trained officers from the beginning of the process and made this decision after numerous discussions with officers and support services.”
The police have requested that Ms. Young’s privacy be respected at this time.
Philip Young, 49, formerly of Swindon, Wilts, but now living in Enfield, north London, was charged with sexual offenses including multiple rape, administering a substance with intent to stun or overpower to permit sexual activity, voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme images.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. The five other men named and accused of crimes against Ms Young have been released on bail and will appear in the same court.
Norman Macksoni, 47, of Beds, Sharnbrook, was charged with one count of rape and possession of extreme images.
Dean Hamilton, 47, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of rape and sexual assault by penetration and two counts of sexual touching.
Conner Sanderson Doyle, 31, of Swindon, was charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching.
Richard Wilkins, 61, of Swindon, was charged with one count of rape and sexual contact.
Mohammed Hassan, 37, of Swindon, was charged with sexual touching.
Specialist Prosecutor James Foster said: “The Crown Prosecution Service authorized the prosecution of Philip Young, Norman Macksoni, Dean Hamilton, Connor Sanderson Doyle, Richard Wilkins and Mohammed Hassan for a range of offences, following a police investigation into allegations of serious sexual offenses against Joanne Young over a 13-year period.
“Our prosecutors worked to establish that there was sufficient evidence to charge and that it was in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings. We worked closely with Wiltshire Police in carrying out investigations.”
