It’s officially Christmas week, which means it’s time to do your last-minute shopping before the big day. Whether you’re picking up your pre-ordered turkey or hunting down last-minute ingredients, all major supermarkets will be on hand to supply you with everything you’ll need for Christmas Day.
Supermarkets have confirmed their opening hours for Christmas Eve, with most closing earlier than normal trading hours. Below you will find a list of all supermarkets open on Christmas Eve in the UK. Here’s what you need to know about your local supermarket.

On Christmas Eve, stores will close before 18:00. However, if you are going to Aldi before this date, the stores will be open from 7 am to 10 pm on Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23.
asda
asda It confirmed that most of its stores will be open from 5am to 7pm on Christmas Eve. For individual branches, it is recommended that you search for individual store opening hours using the Store Locator.
Asda also confirmed that all its petrol stations have a pay-at-the-pump service, so they will be open over the Christmas period for customers to fill up.
Tesco
Tesco Extra stores and Superstores will close at 7pm, with some changes in the Isle of Man. All express stores will close at 22:00 in the evening, some may close at 7 in the evening.

Morrisons
Opening hours on Christmas Eve may vary from branch to branch, but most stores will be open from 6:00am to 6:00pm. Customers are encouraged to use Morissons’ store locator to check the opening hours of their local store.
Lidl
A spokesperson for Lidl confirmed that stores will be open on Christmas Eve and hours will vary from store to store. Lidl urged customers to check the opening times of their local stores via its online store locator or the Lidl Plus app.
Sainsbury’s
On Christmas Eve, supermarkets will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and markets will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The majority of Sainsbury’s supermarkets and convenience stores will also be open from 6am to 11pm from 18-23 December.
Gas stations will open 30 minutes before the main store and close 30 minutes after, except on Christmas Eve, when they will open an hour later.
Waiter
A spokesperson for Waitrose confirmed that stores would close early on Christmas Eve. The supermarket urged customers to check your local branch for specific opening hours.
M&S
Accordingly Good Housekeeping UK, M&S Shops will be open from 6am to 6pm on Christmas Eve, but it’s always best to double-check with your nearest store for local variations.
