A top Republican appears to be seriously considering running for the White House in 2028, which would put him on a collision course with Vice President J.D. Vance. The Washington Post reported.
Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America, said he believes his longtime friend U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is seriously looking to enter the presidential race.

The Washington Post said Cruz in recent months has positioned himself as the voice of more traditional, interventionist GOP foreign policy.
The senator also called on the GOP to distance itself from former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who Cruz said has injected the “poison” of anti-Semitism into the Republican Party.
