Techie Allegedly Shoots Estranged Wife Dead

bengaluru: A technician allegedly shot dead his estranged wife, assistant bank manager Bank Bhuvaneshwari (39), on Magadi road on Tuesday and surrendered to Magadi police. Police said Balamurugan, a 40-year-old software engineer, shot his wife four times with a pistol.
Police said Balamurugan lied in wait around 6.30 pm and shot Bhuvaneshari while he was walking home from work. The seriously injured woman died in the hospital where she was taken. The couple has two children.
Balamurugan and Bhuvaneshwari, who belong to Salem in Tamil Nadu, were separated for more than a year and a half after 14 years of marriage, police said. He allegedly suspected his wife of having an affair. Bhuvaneshwari had filed for divorce and Balamurugan had reportedly received a legal notice a week ago.
Bhuvaneshwari had moved to Rajajinagar from Whitefield about six months ago. Balamurugan followed him and watched his movements.
