Each different college football bowl game comes with its own advantages.

Louisville enjoyed a giant bowl of baked beans on the field after defeating Toledo 27-22 in the Boca Raton Bowl at FAU Stadium on Tuesday.

Actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key was on the field mixing the bowl and preparing it for the Louisville players. Louisville defensive lineman Clev Lubin went to the bakery and asked if the baked beans were theirs, and after getting confirmation, he rushed inside.

Lubin took off his mouthpiece and began to enjoy the meal on the field. Finally, head coach Jeff Brohm was interviewed while his teammates did the same.

Louisville had good reason to celebrate because they thwarted a Toledo comeback to preserve the win. The Cardinals took a 14-3 lead into the fourth quarter, but the action wasn’t over yet.

It looked like Louisville was going to cruise to victory after scoring another fourth-quarter touchdown to take a 21-3 lead, but Toledo rallied. Toledo scored a touchdown on the next drive, forcing a punt and then kicking a field goal to make the score 21-14.

Louisville responded. Running back Isaac Brown kicked a 53-yard field goal to make it 27-14, but Toledo blocked the extra point and came back with two points to cut the score to 27-16. Toledo then scored another goal to cut the score to 27-22, but they were unable to convert a two-point score.

Toledo’s final goal came with about two and a half minutes left in the game, and Louisville slammed the door on a fourth-quarter comeback as they ran out the clock to win the game.

“We are proud of our team,” Brohm said. “We finished strong. We didn’t play perfectly, but we played hard, we played hard, we played until the end.”
