Charles Barkley lashes out against NFL

NFL games on Christmas Day are a relatively new thing.
Usually the NFL has games played on Sunday and Monday as well as Thanksgiving.
This year, the NFL partnered with Netflix to show two games during the day and one game on Amazon Prime Video at night. The games will be against the NBA, which has televised its Christmas holiday for several years.

The NFL’s encroachment on the NBA is something that seems to bother Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley.
“The NFL got greedy and started adding Christmas games. We used to have the day to ourselves, but Roger Goodell and the pigs in the NFL now always want to hang around every day of the week,” Barkley said on ESPN as the NBA’s schedule got underway. “Christmas is an NBA day.”
Barkley criticized the NFL for holding a Peacock game special during the playoffs in January 2024.

He said at the time that showing a playoff game via broadcast was “low class.”
“It’s not nice. They’re just greedy pigs,” he said on ESPN Radio at the time. “I’m glad some NFL players are attacking them. … I know the NFL is the biggest thing in the world, but putting this game on Peacock and forcing people to buy Peacock, that’s just low class. I’m disgusted.”
