Centre redresses over 800 long-pending grievances at Pension Adalat

More than 800 long-pending complaints were redressed at the recently held Pension Adalat, officials said on Friday.

The 15th Pension Adalat, a single platform for redressal of long-pending pension-related grievances of central government pensioners, was held at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) on Wednesday to redress the grievances of super-aged and family pensioners.

Adalat includes defence, housing, finance, posts, housing and urban affairs, civil aviation, etc., an official statement said. It was stated that approximately 1,087 complaints regarding 30 departments/ministries, including the Ministry of Health, were handled and 815 of them were resolved on the spot, underlining the effectiveness of this initiative in providing timely justice to retirees.
The day-long event was chaired by Rachana Shah, Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare.

15. There are many success stories from Pension Adalat that warm our hearts. In such a situation, Pritam Singh from Rewari in Haryana voiced his complaints regarding non-payment of General Provident Fund (GPF), encashment of leaves and gratuities pending for over 114 days.


“Singh expressed his concern over the phone. Officers at the Border Security Force (BSF) were informed that the case has been resolved and arrears of Rs 68,10,192 will be transferred to the pensioner’s account at the earliest,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. he said.
