Man fighting for life after incident on Logan Motorway at Forest Lake

A Toowoomba man died after being struck by a car while stopped at the emergency bay off the Logan Highway at Forest Lake, south-west of Brisbane.

The man was believed to have been standing in front of a blue Kia Cerato car in the bay on the westbound side of the motorway when he and the car were struck by a white Kia Cerato just before noon on Boxing Day.

“The driver and sole occupant of the blue Kia, a 78-year-old Wilsonton man, was pronounced dead at the scene,” Queensland Police said in a statement. he said.

“The driver’s driver [white] Kia, a 33-year-old Cleveland woman, was not physically injured and is assisting police with the investigation.”

It was stated that the woman, whose condition was stable, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

One child was also taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the crash, particularly anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV footage of the incident or both vehicles, to come forward.
