Six Killed, Over 21 Injured As Blast Hits Mosque In Syria’s Homs | World News

A powerful explosion ripped through a mosque in the Syrian city of Homs on Friday, killing at least six people and wounding more than 21, officials said. The explosion occurred after Friday prayers in the Wadi al-Dhahab district, where Alawites are majority.
The Syrian Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque on Al-Khudari Street was targeted in what it described as a terrorist attack during prayers.

Syrian Ministry of Internal Affairs Launched Security and Investigation Measures
The Syrian Ministry of Internal Affairs said that specialized units started standard security procedures in the region and collected evidence. The ministry added that investigations are continuing to determine the circumstances of the explosion and initiate the necessary legal proceedings.
“In parallel with continuing investigations and taking legal measures to uncover the circumstances of the explosion, specialized units began to implement standard security measures at the scene, as well as the ongoing collection of evidence,” the Syrian Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a post on X. he said.
