‘The state of minorities in…’

Apart from Janhvi and Elf, other celebrities including Jaya Prada, Manoj Joshi, Tony Kakkar, Kajal Aggarwal and Shikhar Pahariya also took to social media platforms to express their solidarity against the recent Hindu killings in Bangladesh.

Elf Yadav describes the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh

Days after Dipu Chandra Das was lynched in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, on December 18, another Hindu, Amrit Mondal, was beaten to death by a mob in the country, raising new fears about the safety of minorities in the Muslim-majority South Asian country. Both the shocking incidents sparked protests in many cities in India. A few days after Janhvi Kapoor condemned the attack on Das, Elf Yadav expressed concern over the killing of Hindus in the neighboring country.

The Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday: “This is not just about publishing stories or making a few statements. The situation is serious and requires constant attention. I had expressed this concern through a video on the situation of Bangladeshi Hindus in 2021 and 2024 and I am reiterating it today. The situation of minorities in Bangladesh is extremely worrying and cannot be ignored anymore. Save Bangladeshi Hindus.”

Earlier, Janhvi had written a note on her Instagram Stories and called Dipu Chandra’s lynching “barbaric” and “massacre”. He wrote: “What is happening in Bangladesh is barbaric. This is a massacre and not an isolated incident. If you don’t know about its inhumane lynching, read it, watch the videos, ask questions. And if despite all this you are not outraged, then it is precisely this kind of hypocrisy that will destroy us without even realizing it. We will continue to cry about events on the other side of the world while our own brothers and sisters are burned to death.”

The Dhadak 2 actor concluded, “Whether we are victims or perpetrators, all forms of social discrimination and extremism need to be called out and condemned, before we forget our humanity. We are pawns who believe that we live on both sides of an invisible line. Accept that. And arm yourself with knowledge so that you can take a stand for the innocent lives constantly lost and terrorized in this social crossfire.”

Apart from Janhvi and Elf, other celebrities like Jaya Prada, Manoj Joshi, Tony Kakkar, Kajal Aggarwal and Shikhar Pahariya also took to social media platforms to draw attention to the incident and express their solidarity against the recent Hindu killings in Bangladesh.
