Man arrested after three women stabbed on Paris Metro

A man fled after stabbing three women in the Paris Metro and was later arrested, Paris police said.
The women suffered “minor injuries” and were treated at the emergency room, police said in a post on X.
The attacks took place around 16:00 on Friday at three stations (Republique, Arts et Metiers and Opera) on Metro Line 3 in central Paris.

French media, referring to the prosecutor’s office, said that the suspect’s location was determined thanks to security camera images and mobile phone location tracking.
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez congratulated investigators in a post about X, saying they were able to arrest the suspect “especially thanks to the security camera network and their outstanding knowledge of the area.”
The prosecutor’s office said that the suspect was previously known to the police for misdemeanors such as damaging property.
No detailed information was given about the attacker’s purpose.
