Tour de France: Mathieu van der Poel edges out Tadej Pogacar in sprint finish to win stage two

Mathieu van der Poel threw Tadej Pogacar out on a surface to win the second stage of France and demand the leader’s yellow jersey.

The Dutch rider, who won the same stage in 2021, went forward with 500 meters to go to the longest scene of this year’s tour, and then made Slovenia from Lauwin-Planque to Boulogne-Sur-Mer with a 209.1km route.
