Fifteen dead after bus plunges into Guatemala ravine

At least 15 people were killed and 19 injured when a passenger bus crashed into a ravine on the Inter-American Highway in western Guatemala, authorities said.
“Fifteen people, including 11 men, three women and one child, died in this traffic accident,” local fire department spokesman Leandro Amado told reporters on Saturday, adding that about 19 injured were taken to hospitals near the scene.
The accident occurred in the Solola District due to dense fog that reduced visibility for drivers.
Images shared by the fire department on social media early Saturday showed the wrecked bus in the creek bed as firefighters worked to rescue the victims.
