Queensland police probing fatal Neranwood crash after man’s body discovered

Police have launched an investigation into a fatal crash after a man’s body was found down a steep embankment in a badly damaged vehicle.
The single-vehicle crash was spotted in the Gold Coast Hinterland at around 11am on Saturday by alarmed members of the public.
The vehicle was found on the roof of thick bush off a bend on the Gold Coast Springbrook Road at Neranwood.

According to the Queensland Police Service, officers found the body of a 55-year-old Aspley man in the driver’s seat of a white Toyota Echo.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said: “Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the date of the crash, are ongoing.”
The Forensic Crash Unit was called to investigate the crash and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
