Body recovered from Hume Dam in southern NSW after children found alone on boat

A body has been found four days after a man disappeared into the water at Hume Dam in southern NSW.
Emergency services were called to the waterhole near Table Top on the evening of 23 December after reports of a swimmer missing.
According to the NSW Police Force, officers found two children alone on a boat at the dam unharmed.
“Officers attached to Murray River Police District were told a 64-year-old man had entered the water from a boat but he did not surface,” a spokesman said.

The incident led to a search of the waters by multiple agencies, with the man’s body being found around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
He has not yet been officially identified but is believed to be the missing man, according to the spokesperson.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
