Asia-Pacific markets will open mixed on Monday as investors begin the last trading week of the year.
Japan’s reference point Nikkei 225 The index is set for a higher open with the futures contract in Chicago trading at 50,920 compared to Friday’s close of 50,750.39.

Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.2%.
US stock futures were flat in early Asian trading. In the US on Friday, the S&P 500 hit a new high and posted weekly gains as traders returned from the Christmas holiday.
The broad market index closed at 6,929.94, down 0.03%. The S&P 500 index increased by 0.2% to 6,945.77 points. Nasdaq Composite lost 0.09% to close at 23,593.10. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 20.19 points, or 0.04%, to 48,710.97.
For the week, the S&P 500 gained 1.4%, its fourth weekly gain in five weeks. The Dow and Nasdaq are also up more than 1% year to date.
