Aldi confirms UK store closures as it makes opening times change | UK | News

Aldi has confirmed changes to opening hours have been made this week as all stores prepare to close for the day.

The bargain supermarket reminded shoppers that its stores will close on New Year’s Day and then reopen on Friday, January 2. Aldi stores reopened to customers this week after closing on Christmas Day and Boxing Day to allow staff to enjoy the festivities. However, until January 1 store opening hours will be slightly different to normal and supermarkets will operate reduced hours on some days.

Aldi’s normal opening hours are 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, although this may change ahead of the New Year.

Aldi advised shoppers to check the opening times of their local stores online before visiting to see if there have been any changes. store finder.

  • Monday, December 29 – 8:00 – 20:00
  • Tuesday, December 30 – 8:00 – 20:00
  • Wednesday, December 31st – 8:00 – 18:00
  • Thursday, January 1 – Closed
  • Friday, January 2 – 8:00 – 22:00

The announcement of new year’s opening hours comes after Aldi opened 16 new stores in the UK in the five weeks ahead of Christmas.

Aldi also announced plans to double its investment and open 40 stores a year, with a commitment of £1.6bn over the next two years.
