Starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar has been on a sensational, record-breaking spree since its release on December 5. The high-octane spy thriller, which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera and Sara Arjun, has crossed Rs 1,100 crore worldwide. With these staggering numbers, the film currently stands as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, the third highest-grossing Indian film ever, the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time, and the biggest A-certified Hindi film to date.
According to the makers’ official box office figures, Dhurandhar earned a net worth of Rs 741.90 crore in India in its first 25 days. According to initial estimates by entertainment streaming portal Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 11.25 billion more than its domestic earnings on its 26th day, i.e. December 30. This takes the domestic net total to over Rs 750 billion. The Ranveer Singh starrer eclipsed every theatrical release in December, including Hollywood’s biggest release like Avatar: Fire and Ash, Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and Kapil Sharma-led Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2.
The Aditya Dhar directorial revolves around Ranveer Singh’s Indian undercover intelligence agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who works under the alias Hamza Ali Mazari to infiltrate the Pakistani underworld in Lyari, Karachi, and uncover the dangerous nexus that binds gangsters, terrorists and politicians. Inspired by real-life events, the film adds a chilling realism to the narrative by making references to important events such as the hijacking of IC-814, the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Dhurandhar will be followed by its sequel Dhurandhar Part 2: Revenge, which is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026. The film is heading for a high-stakes box office showdown with Yash’s pan-India gangster epic Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, which also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma. Qureshi. Adding to the crowded release list, action drama Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap, is also scheduled to be released on the same day.
