London celebrated the start of 2026 in grand style with an incredible New Year’s Eve fireworks display on the banks of the River Thames.
Nearly 100,000 people braved freezing weather to watch the spectacular, the largest in Europe, with 12pm fireworks and lasers.
Clad in scarves and beanies, people rejoiced as Big Ben’s bongs arrived in 2026, followed by bursts of fireworks as the famous Lonon Eye was illuminated with colour.
Celebrated under the theme of “Togetherness”, the show was accompanied by a mix of the year’s most popular songs and 2025 anthems.
The production also included flags from around the world on the famous Ferris wheel, showing the cultural diversity of England’s capital.
The Christmas classic “Auld Lang Syne” was also featured in the spectacular show, which lasted approximately 12 minutes.
Many other cities around the world have already celebrated the start of 2026 with spectacular displays.
