Multiple people killed in fire at Swiss alpine resort

Swiss police said several people were killed and others injured after “an explosion and fire in a bar” in the luxury Crans-Montana ski resort in southwestern Switzerland.
Sky News, citing police, reported that at least 10 people died in the incident. Some local media say this figure could be higher. A police spokesman declined to confirm the number but said many people were being treated for burns.
The fire broke out in a bar called Le Constellation at 1.30 local time on Thursday.
In their statement, the police stated that the area was completely closed and a no-fly zone was declared over Crans-Montana, and that the cause of the explosion remained unclear.
A police spokesman said more than 100 people were in the bar at the time of the explosion.
