Arjun Bijlani’s father-in-law Rakesh Chandra Swami passed away after suffering cerebral palsy. He was receiving treatment but passed away on January 1.

TV actor and host Arjun Bijlani’s father-in-law Rakesh Chandra Swami passed away on Thursday. According to a source close to the ‘Rise and Fall’ star, Rakesh Chandra Swami suffered a cerebral stroke on December 29, 2025, following which he started receiving treatment in Mumbai. He passed away on January 1, 2026.
His last rites took place at Oshiwara crematorium on Thursday afternoon in the presence of family members. Rakesh Chandra Swami is survived by his daughter Neha Swami and son Nishank Swami. Arjun Bijlani, who is close to his father-in-law, was recently in Dubai with his family ahead of the New Year celebrations. The actor shared sections of his holiday. Earlier this year, Neha shared a heartfelt Father’s Day post for her father and wrote an emotional message for him. He also shared photos of his father and son together.

I always hoped that Arjun would learn from you your strength, patience and the way you make fatherhood seem like a blessing. A father’s love is the foundation of a family and your love has shaped who I am and what I look for in the people I love.
