Dentist Spencer Tepe and wife found shot dead in Ohio home as 2 kids unharmed

A dentist and his wife in Columbus, Ohio, were found shot to death in their home just a month before celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary.

Police went to the home for a welfare check around 10 a.m. Tuesday and found Spencer and Monique Tepe dead with apparent gunshot wounds. Two young children were found uninjured in the house.

The owner of Athens Dental Depot, where Spencer works, is Dr. Mark Valrose called 911 and asked officers to send officers to the couple’s home for a welfare check. Valrose said people at the business became concerned when Spencer didn’t show up for work.

Fox News Digital obtained the 911 recordings through a public records request.

Accordingly WSYXPolice do not believe their deaths were murder-suicides. No firearms were found at the scene and there were no signs of forced entry, officials added.

Valrose called 911 at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday to raise the alarm about Spencer and Monica. A Columbus Police Department officer arrived at Tepe’s home at 9:22 a.m. but received no answer after knocking on the door.

“Spencer works with me and he didn’t show up for work this morning and we can’t reach him or his family,” Valrose said. “He’s always on time and contacts us if there are any problems… We’re very, very concerned because it’s very out of character and we can’t contact his wife, which is probably more concerning.”

In a separate 911 call from one of Spencer’s friends who went to their home, the caller said “there’s a body.”

“We just got here and he looks dead. He’s lying next to his bed covered in blood. I can’t get closer to see anything more than that,” the caller said. “I could tell he wasn’t breathing or anything.”

Athens Dental Depot said in a statement on Facebook that Spencer “will be greatly missed.”

Rob Misleh, Spencer’s brother-in-law, told WSYX the couple will celebrate their fifth anniversary next month after marrying in 2021.
