World Darts Championship 2026 final result: Luke Littler wins PDC title with masterclass against Gian van Veen

Luke Littler put on a spectacular display to defeat Gian van Veen 7-1 to win the PDC World Championship for the second year in a row.

The 18-year-old British player became the fourth player in this elite group to win this title consecutively, after Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson.

His second victory in his third appearance at Alexandra Palace also means only 14-year-old Taylor and three-year-old Michael van Gerwen have more PDC world titles than Littler.

While Littler is still 12 years shy of Taylor’s PDC record, his masterclass against Van Veen will further fuel rumors that ‘Nuke’ could go after what seems like an insurmountable feat.

“This is something very special,” Littler told Sky Sports. “We have to keep going, keep adding more titles. We can’t stop here. We’re still on this rollercoaster ride.”

Littler averaged over 107 for most of the match, eventually narrowly edging out Van Veen (just under 100) with a score of 106.02.

Taking such a dominant position, Littler finished in style with 147 points before roaring back to the crowd that supported him throughout the final.

With the £1 million prize money secured, tears flowed as he was congratulated by Van Veen before the Sid Waddell Trophy was handed over by Olympic cycling great Sir Chris Hoy.
