Bentley fire: One person missing as explosion, flames engulf home on Stannard Street

A house in Perth’s south has gone up in flames and one person remains unidentified following an explosion at the property on Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called to the single-storey house on Stannard Street, Bentley, at around 11.30am after receiving a call from Triple-0 reporting a loud explosion.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the house was completely burned when crews arrived.

Fire crews searched to find the people living in the house, but they had to evacuate the building when the roof started to collapse due to intense heat.

A second search was launched at the property for an unnamed person at around 12.30pm.
