Two of the M27’s eastbound lanes remain closed between junctions J11 and J12. One lane is now open to traffic.

A National Highways spokesman said: “Normal traffic conditions are expected between 5.45am and 6am on 6 January 2026.” The density in the region is expected to disappear by 06.30.

Access to westbound traffic appears to have given the green light for motorists, as the closure has now been removed from the National Highways website. The Mirror was unable to confirm this as traffic cameras and CCTV in the area were disabled by emergency crews.
