US Seizes Russian Oil Tanker ‘Marinera’ In North Atlantic | World News

The United States seized the Russian-flagged oil tanker Marinera in the North Atlantic pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the US federal court after being tracked by USCGC Munro.
The US army’s European Command published a statement confirming the operation in its post on X. The statement also stated that the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense seized the tanker on the grounds that it violated US sanctions.
“M/V Bella 1 for violating US sanctions. The ship was seized in the North Atlantic pursuant to an order issued by a US federal court after being pursued by USCGC Munro,” the post said.

“This seizure supports the @POTUS Proclamation targeting sanctioned vessels that threaten the security and stability of the Western Hemisphere.
