CM to launch distribution of Pongal gift hampers today

Chief Minister MK Stalin will launch the distribution of Pongal gift baskets to eligible rice ration card holders and Sri Lankan Tamils ​​living in camps across the state from the Public Distribution System outlet at Alandur in Chennai on Thursday. According to a press release, the Pongal gift baskets include ₹3,000 in cash, one kg of raw rice, one kg of sugar and one sugarcane. These will be distributed to more than 2 crore rice ration card holders across the state. It was also stated that free dhoti and sari distribution to ration card holders will start on Thursday.
