UP government cancels Assistant Professor exam 2025
Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has canceled the Assistant Professor recruitment exam 2025. The UP government has asked the UP Educational Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) to release the new exam dates soon and conduct the exam in a smooth and fair environment.
UP Assistant Professor recruitment exam 2025, scheduled to be held on April 16 and 17, has been canceled due to allegations of irregularities and paper leaks. An investigation was soon launched which resulted in the arrest of Mehboob Ali, Baijnath Pal and Vinay Pal by the UP Special Task Force (STF). It was revealed that they prepared fake question papers for the associate professorship exam.
Who is Mehboob Ali?
Mehboob Ali, one of the accused, was a close confidant of the then UPESC Chairman. During his interrogation, he admitted that he prepared fake documents on various subjects and sold them to candidates in exchange for a large amount of cash.
Around 1.14 lakh candidates applied for 1,017 vacancies for the post of Assistant Professor in government-aided colleges across the state.
In a similar move, the UP government had earlier canceled the Trained Postgraduate Teachers (TGT), Postgraduate Teachers (PGT) recruitment exam scheduled to be held on December 18 and 19, 2025. Once the revised schedule of UP TGT PGT exam is announced, it will be available on the official website upsessb.pariksha.nic.in.
UPPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment Exam 2025: Important details
Eligibility criteria:
– Master’s degree in relevant discipline approved by the Medical Council of India is mandatory.
– Additionally, three years of teaching experience on the subject is required.
Selection process:
– Candidates’ qualifications will be evaluated.
-After this, the interview round will take place.
-There is no need for a written exam.
Application fee:
– Application fee for general and OBC category is Rs 105.
– Reserved category candidates (SC/ST) are required to pay an application fee of Rs 65.
Pay scale:
Selected candidates will be given a salary starting from Rs 68,900 in salary band-11.
