Mother-of-three killed by federal agent in Minneapolis was an anti-ICE ‘warrior’ who trained to resist immigration crackdown

A mother of three killed by a federal agent in Minneapolis was an anti-ICE ‘crusader’ who, along with a network of other activists, coordinated efforts to ‘resist and document’ immigration operations.
Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot and killed Wednesday while driving an SUV blocking a residential street during protests against an ICE operation.
The agent responsible, identified as Jonathan ‘Jon’ Ross, was branded a ‘murderer’ by angry Democrats but had the full support of the Trump administration; The Trump administration claimed Good was acting in self-defense when he appeared intent on running him over with his car.
Good’s friends described her as part of a network of activists actively resisting ICE, coordinated through her six-year-old son’s charter school.
‘He was a warrior. “He died doing the right thing,” said a mother named Leesa, who had a child at the same school as Good’s son. New York Post.
‘[Renee Good] trained against these ICE agents; ‘It’s a very comprehensive training on what to do and what not to do.’
As part of this training, Good allegedly learned to listen to commands and understand his rights.
‘I know you did the right thing. I watched the video many times but I also know in my heart what a woman she was, she was doing everything right,” Leesa said.

There are similar groups across the country, especially in Democrat-led sanctuary cities, that are actively resisting Trump’s deportation operations.
According to the publication, the school prides itself on its ‘social justice first’ approach to learning and ‘involving children in political and social activism’.
Good and his wife, Rebecca, moved to the area last year and enrolled their six-year-old son in classes at Wake Charter School.
They are understood to have fled the US after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election and traveled briefly to Canada before settling in Minneapolis.
There, Good became involved with the school community and the local group ‘ICE Watch,’ a coalition of activists trying to prevent ICE raids.

These activists use phone apps to alert occupants of ICE vehicles and operations, honk their car horns to warn neighbors when they see immigration officers, and whistle as a signal to those around them.
The videos show agents approaching Good’s stationary vehicle, asking him to exit, and when he began to back up, an agent pulled the door handle.
Ross stops in front of the car, draws his gun, points it at Good, and he opens fire. Good’s Honda Pilot crashed nearby and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amy Swearer, senior staff attorney at the conservative nonprofit Advancing American Freedom, told the Daily Mail that under the law, the use of deadly force is justified when an officer can reasonably perceive a threat of serious bodily harm or death.
‘You have a police officer who is trying to lawfully detain a driver who is blocking the road and who is trying to prevent the law enforcement officers advancing on that road. “This driver did not comply with these lawful commands and actually appeared to be trying to escape the situation,” Swearer said.
There was a lot of speculation online about the direction of the wheels as Good was seen swerving onto the road away from the cops.
Others questioned why Ross stopped in front of the car, but Swearer explained that both points were irrelevant to the law.
He said that ‘he clearly had no duty to retreat as a civilian would under these circumstances’.
“It doesn’t matter whether the driver subjectively tried to hit the officer or not,” Swearer added. ‘What the officer can reasonably perceive is important. He can’t read her mind. He just knows that there is someone ignoring legal commands, moving the car towards him. This is deadly force.’
Ross is an ‘experienced’ police officer who suffered horrific injuries while trying to arrest an illegal immigrant sex offender last year.
“He’s the same ICE agent who was dragged in the car 15 feet ago in June, so he has a history,” an FBI agent told the Daily Mail on condition of anonymity.
The 37-year-old woman was shot three times in the face during a protest in Minneapolis and died at the scene.
The FBI agent stated that he did not believe Ross was justified in shooting Good.
‘The first shot is somewhat debatable, but the second and third shots are not.’
Minneapolis has remained tense since Good’s death, with protesters gathering outside the city’s immigration court on Thursday for more demonstrations.
Activists were seen holding banners and chanting slogans; They included banners reading ‘ICE Out Now’, ‘We deserve to be safe in our society’ and ‘Resist Fascism’.
‘We Keep Us Safe’, ‘ICE Get Out’, ‘ICE Go Home’, ‘Quit Your Job’ and ‘Justice Now!’ slogans were shouted.
Schools canceled classes and events as a safety precaution after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz appealed to people to remain calm.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) deployed more than 2,000 officers to the area in what it said was the largest immigration enforcement operation ever.
