Video filmed by ICE agent who shot Minneapolis woman emerges

A video taken by a US immigration officer who fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday has emerged, showing the moments before gunshots were heard.
The 47-second footage, obtained by Minnesota-based channel Alpha News, shows Renee Nicole Good talking to the police officer while sitting behind the wheel of her car.
US Vice President JD Vance shared the clip on social media, commenting that the agent acted in self-defense. Local authorities insisted the woman posed no danger.
Good’s wife paid tribute to the 37-year-old man, saying the couple were trying to support their neighbors when he was shot. His death sparked protests across the United States.
The Trump administration said Good blocked the road and impeded the work of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
The BBC asked the Department of Homeland Security and the White House to comment on the new video, which emerged on Friday.
The footage begins with the officer getting out of his car and filming Good walking around his vehicle. There’s a dog in the backseat.
Good says: “It’s okay, man. I’m not mad at you.”
A second woman, believed to be his wife, was standing on the street filming the interaction with her cell phone. He apparently tells the ICE agent: “We don’t change our plates every morning…just so you know, when you come to talk to us later it will be the same plate.”
He adds: “Do you want to come over? I say go and make yourself some lunch, big boy.”
Another agent approaches Good from the driver’s side and curses, saying: “Get out of the car.”
The agent filming the clip moves in front of Good’s car as it reverses.
In a few chaotic seconds, he turns the steering wheel to the right and pulls forward.
The camera rises towards the sky. “Whoa, whoa!” As explosions are heard, a voice says:
In the last part of the video, the car can be seen swerving down the road. ICE agent swears.
Other previously released images from the scene show the burgundy SUV crashing onto the side of the road.
The FBI is investigating the incident.
On Friday, Vice President Vance reposted the video on X and defended the agent’s actions: “The fact is that his life was in danger and he fired in self-defense.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt also reposted the video, saying the media had slandered an ICE agent who “properly defended himself from being crushed.”
Good’s wife, Becca Good, told local media that the two went to the scene of immigration enforcement to support their neighbors.
“We had whistles,” he said. “They had guns.”
He said that “kindness radiates from him” when talking about good.
“We were raising our son to believe that no matter where you come from or what you look like, we all deserve compassion and kindness,” she added.
