Vontimitta Mandal VRO In ACB Net

-Anantapur: Sleuths of Kadapa district unit Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught the village revenue officer (VRO) of Konarajupalle and Mantapampalli villages in Vontimitta mandal red-handed while accepting bribe from a farmer to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
Sources said Chintakunta Raja Reddy and his cousin were digging two wells in their agricultural land in Konarajupalle village. They approached VRO Y. Srinivasulu to get an NOC to install electrical transformers on their land to use boreholes. Accordingly, they applied for NOCs at the Tahsildar office in Vontimatta mandal.
VRO initially demanded a bribe of ₹18,000 but reduced it to ₹15,000.
Raja Reddy filed a complaint with Kadapa ACB officials as he did not want to pay the bribe amount.
The office’s sleuths laid a trap and seized ₹15,000 worth of dirty bribe money from VRO from the premises of Tahsildar office in Vontimitta.
The ACB directed Srinivasulu to produce him before the ACB Court in Kurnool.
