Viral Bihari Samosa Ghantawala is winning hearts online from Gujarat to London. Meet the man behind the ringing samosas.

Indian street food has become an unexpected center of attention on the crowded streets of London, thanks to a samosa seller who took social media by storm with his desi style and unique tastes. Popularly known as Bihari Samosa Ghantawala, this Indian snack brand has gone viral with Instagram videos showing long queues, ringing bells and a man in traditional attire selling stylish samosas.

A journey that started in Gujarat

The story began in 1972, when Bihari immigrant Kalishaprasad Kishanlal Shah opened a small samosa stall in Nadiad, Gujarat. Their samosas, prepared using a family recipe from Bihar, quickly became popular.

Becoming a trusted name

Over the years, Shah’s sons expanded the business to Gujarat, opening outlets in Ahmedabad, Anand and Vadodara. The recipe, ingredients and preparation style have remained unchanged and have helped the brand build trust across generations.

London brings global attention

The family decided to move their legacy abroad in 2024. Two sales points were opened in London, one in Wembley and the other in South Harrow. What really set them apart was their street style merchandising. Videos of Yogeshwar Shah dressed in white kurta-dhoti and ringing bells while selling samosas quickly went viral.

internet buzz

Viral posts claimed that the business earns around Rs 10 lakh per day. In a video, Yogeshwar himself mentioned that he earns around 10,000 pounds a day.
