Iran Intensifies Warnings to Protesters as Rallies Near Two-Week Mark

Dubai: Iran stepped up its threats against demonstrators on Saturday, with the country’s attorney general warning that anyone participating in the protests would be considered an “enemy of God” and face the death penalty.
Comments by Iran’s attorney general, Mohammad Movahedi Azad, were reported by Iranian state television.
Officials up to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had already signaled that Iran would begin to put pressure.
The demonstrations, which have been going on for about two weeks, have intensified in recent days.
