Trump Slaps Tariffs On 12 New Nations – Bangladesh, Myanmar Hit Hard

The United States President Donald Trump announced tariffs for 14 nations, including Japan and South Korea. He shared the letters sent by the management to the countries and gave information about mutual tariffs that will enter into force as of August 1, 2025. This announced that “10 percent more tariffs will be applied to nations that make themselves compatible with anti -Brics policies.
Before he announced the tariffs in 12 countries, Trump shared letters sent to Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung on his social passion.
Later, the US President also shared similar letters to Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Laos.
Trump’s tariff list
The letters sent to various global authorities mentioned the tariffs to be applied to the relevant countries.
1- Each of Thailand and Cambodia will face a 36 percent tariff.
2- 25 percent tariffs will be applied to Malaysia and Kazakhstan.
3- Myanmar and Laos will have to pay 40 percent of their goods exported to America.
4- Indonesia will face a 32 percent tariff rate.
5- Imports from South Africa, Bosnia and Herzegovina will be subject to 30 percent tariffs.
6- According to letters, Tunisia will face a 25 percent tariff.
7- Finally, each of Bangladesh and Serbia will be hit with a 35 percent tariff.
South Korea, Japan
According to letters addressing the President of South Korea and the Prime Minister of Japan, Trump announced that Japan and South Korea will face a 25 percent tariff from August 1st.
In addition, the President of the United States threatened to increase the tariff rate in the same amount if the US President decided to increase tariffs on imported American products. However, Trump stated that if these countries review trade policies, he would want to reduce tariffs.
