MHA seeks report on alleged attack on Suvendu Adhikari’s convoy

Kolkata, Home Ministry has sought a report from West Bengal Opposition Leader Suvendu Adhikari’s office on the alleged attack on his convoy in Paschim Medinipur, the BJP leader said on Sunday.

According to him, Adhikari’s office is preparing to send video footage of the incident to the Union Home Ministry.

“MHA has sought a report on the incident of assault on Adhikari. LoP office is preparing a detailed report on the same and it will be sent to them soon,” the party leader said. he said.
Adhikari claimed that he was attacked by TMC supporters in Paschim Medinipur area on Saturday.

Claiming that the attack took place in the presence of police personnel who were “silent spectators”, Adhikari said it was an attack on any opposition voice in the state.
“TMC’s desperation is obvious; they are resorting to banditry as they cannot face the heat of the growing anger of the people,” he alleged.

According to Adhikari, members of the security team and local BJP supporters intervened to clear the road and a brawl ensued. There was no response from the police or the Trinamool Congress to the allegations.
