Adani Group has committed to invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the Kutch region of Gujarat over the next five years, Adani Ports and SEZ Limited Managing Director Karan Adani announced at the Live Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra Region on Sunday.
Karan Adani promised that the Group will complete the mega Khavda project and commission the entire 37 gigawatt capacity by 2030. Adani Group also said it will double its port capacity at Mundra in the next 10 years. “Each of these investments is in line with India’s national priorities of job creation, industrial competitiveness, sustainability and long-term resilience,” he said.
Stating that as India moves towards Viksit Bharat 2047, Gujarat will continue to be the cornerstone of this national transformation, Karan Adani said, “Adani Group remains deeply committed to being a reliable partner in building a strong, self-reliant and globally respected India.” Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited said that Kutch represents a very powerful symbol of transformation. “Once considered remote and challenging, Kutch has today become one of India’s most strategic industrial, logistics and energy hubs,” he said.
“For Adani Group, Mundra is our Karma Bhoomi. It is not only India’s largest commercial port and fully integrated multimodal logistics gateway, it is also home to India’s largest copper smelter, coal-to-PVC complex and solar power manufacturing complex. Mundra demonstrates how long-term vision can transform not just a region but also industries.” He said the Khavda project is India’s statement to the world that economic growth, climate responsibility and energy security can go hand in hand.
Karan Adani also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated the conference in Rajkot today. “Under your leadership, India has undergone a fundamental transformation not just in scale but also in mindset. You have taught the nation to think long-term, to build institutions rather than announcements, and to see development as the mission of a civilisation, not a series of projects… From reforming governance and infrastructure to restoring India’s global trust, you have redefined what decisive leadership looks like. India today not only aspires to grow, it aspires to lead, set standards and shape the future of the world, and Gujarat is where vision matches execution and ambition is matched by delivery.” “It stands as living evidence of the philosophy it supports.” he said.
