According to GB News, many people were injured when a truck plowed into a crowd of anti-Iran demonstrators in Los Angeles, creating an atmosphere of panic and chaos.
In the footage of a U-Haul truck passing through a group of protesters, people can be seen dispersing as the vehicle moves forward. Witnesses said the driver accelerated towards demonstrators waving Iranian flags and tried to force the protest.
Taped to the side of the truck was a large banner: “No Shah, No Regime. USA: Don’t Repeat 1953. No Mullahs.”
The incident takes place in broad daylight.
The incident occurred in broad daylight on Veteran Boulevard in the Westwood area, where hundreds of people had gathered to protest the Islamic Republic of Iran.
One of the witnesses, Susie Shoshana, recorded the incident on her phone as it happened.
“I went to a party on Veteran Boulevard, came out and there was an Iranian protest march right in front of the building,” Ms. Shoshana said.
“I was caught on this video crashing his U-Haul at the protest.”
The vehicle was surrounded by protesters
The truck eventually stopped and was quickly surrounded by protesters. As the tension increased, some people were seen breaking the windows of the vehicle.
In later images, the driver is seen being taken out of the truck by police officers, while the screams of the surrounding people can be heard.
As officers led the suspect away, several protesters attempted to punch him and hit him with flagpoles, forcing police to push the crowd back to regain control of the scene.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that three people were injured in the truck crash.
