AP Govt Never Opposed Telangana’s Projects: Naidu

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that governance has been restored after years of allegations of dysfunction during the previous YSRCP tenure, 2025 has yielded strong results and renewed public confidence in the state’s leadership.

Reviewing the Gross Domestic Product (GSDP), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), Pattadari Accounts Books and other important issues, the Prime Minister instructed the officials to work harder this year to sustain prosperity, development and public service delivery.

Last year (2025), the NDA coalition government had achieved positive results, meeting citizens’ expectations and rebuilding trust in government systems and years of dysfunction, he said.

According to the CM, the total land survey will be completed by 2026 and land records will be made tamper-proof using technology. The TDP chief stated that the state saved the Visakha Steel Plant (VSP) with Rs 1,200 crore central assistance and turned Andhra Pradesh into an investment destination attracting 25 per cent of national investments.

Through ‘Talli ki Vandanam’ (Hail to Mothers), Rs 10,090 has been deposited to 67 lakh student mothers, while ‘Stree Shakti’ has facilitated 3.5 crore women’s travels costing Rs 1.114 billion so far.

Under Annadata Sukhibhava, Rs 6,310 crore loan was given to 46 lakh farmers and Deepam 2.0′ distributed 2 crore cylinders in Andhra Pradesh, spending Rs 2,684 crore. Social pensions have reached Rs 50,000 billion in one and a half years and around 70 major plans and studies have been successfully implemented.

The CM added that Polavaram, Pattiseema and Nallamala Sagar projects conserve water, nourish Rayalaseema and Prakasam and enable Telangana to utilize the remaining Godavari water efficiently.

The increase in domestic and foreign investments attracted attention. SIPB has approved investments worth Rs 8.74 lakh crore. Google will establish a $15 billion artificial intelligence data center.

The foundation stone of Quantum Valley in Amaravati will be laid soon and quantum computers will be operational within six months. All reservoirs are filled to 970 TMC, reducing energy costs.

During the review meeting with the officials, he said, “We have brought the administration back on track from a completely destroyed system. The Polavaram project will be completed before Godavari pushkaram in 2027 and excess water will be available to Telangana as well. We have never objected to the Kaleswaram project.”

Naidu stated that Nallamala Sagar will provide water to Prakasam district and many areas in Rayalaseema and emphasized that no one will be adversely affected by the project.

Naidu clarified that the Andhra Pradesh government has never opposed Telangana’s projects. The proposed Polavaram-Nallamala Sagar link project aims to utilize surplus Godavari river waters that normally flow into the Bay of Bengal.

The aim of the project is to make the region productive and prosperous by diverting river water, which would otherwise discharge into the sea, to the Rayalaseema region. Naidu emphasized that the state has attracted huge investments due to fast governance and business-friendly policies.
