Lorraine usually presents her show for just 30 minutes in the new time slot at 9.30am on weekdays, just after Good Morning Britain on ITV.

In the last episode of the program, 46-year-old Christine Lampard was seen presenting the chat program.

Before Lorraine went on air, GMB presenters Ed Balls, 58, and Susanna Reid, 55, went live into the studio to catch up with Christine and talk about what viewers can expect.

Susanna said: ‘Christine will be in the studio for Lorraine from 9.30am. Christine, good morning to you too.

Lorraine usually presents her show from 9.30am to 10am on weekdays, just after Good Morning Britain on ITV, but the final episode was presented by Christine instead.

On Saturday, TV presenter Lorraine, 66, made the heartbreaking announcement by sharing a photo of herself with her father in an emotional tribute.

‘We would like to extend our condolences to Lorraine because she has tragically lost her father in the last few days.

‘We are sending an enormous amount of love. I know this is a shock.

‘Lorraine, I love you so, so much.’

Christine replied: ‘Absolutely thank you guys. At the beginning of the program we will chat a little about Lorraine and her family.

‘It’s been a shock to us all but we’ll do our best to carry on today. Lorraine will be back very soon.’

The cause of Lorraine’s father’s death was revealed after he tragically died after falling on an icy road.

John Kelly, 84, was reportedly found injured in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, early this morning and sadly died at the scene amid freezing temperatures.
