Bootleg Rascal fan’s public proposal rejected on stage
It was a memorable proposition for all the wrong reasons.
At the Bootleg Rascal concert at The Triffid in Brisbane on January 10, a fan took to the stage and encouraged his girlfriend to join him as he prepared to make a public declaration of love.
“We saw Bootleg Rascal about two years ago… they are our favorite band and I thought why not today? Maybe today is the time,” said the unnamed man, as his girlfriend tried to stop him from kneeling on stage.
“Are you going to… no?” the man stammered as his partner nodded and ran off stage, to the shock of the crowd.
The heartbroken fan, who was left speechless by the screaming audience on stage, was later comforted by a person dressed in an inflatable Scooby-Doo costume.
The clip was shared by the band to promote their Australian tour and was edited with their breakup song. Reasons.
“It hurts to watch,” one person wrote.
“Poor fellow, does anyone know if he’s okay?” someone asked.
“Are we allowed to laugh? I feel bad,” another wrote.
The group was using the public rejection as a sign not to help another public bid for a while.
“First show off to a great start,” they wrote in the caption.
