An 80-year-old man reportedly tried to board a plane with his deceased wife. According to reports in Spain, the incident is said to have occurred at Tenerife South Airport. It was claimed that the staff became worried after the woman in the wheelchair remained unresponsive.

The situation reportedly arose during routine checks when the man tried to pass through the metal detector as if he were another passenger. Security guards noticed that the woman was unresponsive, allegedly not breathing, and had a very low body temperature.

Spanish media reported that the woman died a few hours ago, according to the husband’s initial statements. The man was arrested at the scene and the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are currently being investigated by authorities.
