‘Furious’ royal ‘refused to see Prince Harry’ after bombshell move | Royal | News

Prince Harry reportedly angered a senior Royal official following the Megxit announcement in 2020, enough to refuse to see him. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the shock news that they wanted to step away from royal duties on January 8, 2020. Harry was then summoned back to England days later to discuss the situation at a meeting called the “Sandringham Summit”.

Harry, who attended the crisis talks without his wife Meghan Markle in Canada, where they stayed with their young son for a few weeks, included King Charles, Prince William and the late Queen Elizabeth II. He was attended by senior members of the Royal Family, including Elizabeth. Although the late Queen was also in attendance, Prince Philip was reportedly so angry that he did not attend and refused to see Harry.

According to the Channel 5 documentary titled ‘Megxit: Inside the Sandringham Summit’, royal writer Andrew Morton claimed: “Prince Philip is not one to take fools and was appalled that they were in a situation where the Royal Family was deciding whether to leave or not.”

Also speaking about the meeting, royal expert Emily Andrews said: “Philip was so angry he refused to even be there. I’m told he didn’t dare see his grandson, which he felt was a gross dereliction of duty.”

Philip is known to have a close relationship with both Prince Harry and Prince William – especially since the death of the late Princess Diana. mirror reports.

Writer Tina Brown discussing their bond: “A member of the Balmoral team [where the boys were when they received the news Diana had died] He noted that Prince Philip, who actually lost his own mother at the age of 10 when she was committed to a mental hospital in Switzerland for three years, also drew attention to this.

He added that Philip was “extremely effective with his grandchildren, offering them moody affection and outdoor activities such as tracking and walking to tire them out.”

Since moving to the US in 2020, Harry and Meghan have been living in California with their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

The family lived in a gated community in the heart of Montecito.
